Normal force
upward force of the ground perpendicular to the surface
Newton's Law of motion
Three rules describing how things move. an object wikk move with constant motion if no net force is acting on it. An object that has an unbalanced force acting on it will accelerate in the direction of the force: Forces occur in equal but opposite pairs.
Gravity
attraction between all Matter: a force that pulls on all objects that have mass.
Mass
amount of matter in an object.
Rate
fraction in which the numerator and denominator have different units.
Inertia
measure of an objects ability to remain at rest or keep moving.
Weight
Downward pull of gravity on an object.
Balance forces
describes forces acting on an object that cancel each other.
Average Speed
distance traveled, divided by the time it takes to travel this distance
Force
a push or pull: can be measured by the amount of acceleration it can give mass.
Acceleration
rate at which speed or direction change: can be found by dividing the changes in speed by the given time.
