What is the Conservation of Energy

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another.

What are three positives of renewable energy?

Renewable energy facilities generally require less maintenance than traditional generators. Their fuel being derived from natural and available resources reduces the costs of operation.

Even more importantly, renewable energy produces little or no waste products.

Never runs out.

Three downsides to Renewable

It is difficult to generate the quantities of electricity that are as large as those produced by traditional fossil fuel generators.

The reliability of supply. Renewable energy often relies on the weather for its source of power.

Expensive initially.

What is Conduction?

The transfer of heat energy through the vibrations in a solid. Heat transfer occurs from hot to cold.

What is Convection?

Heat transfer of a fluid such as air or water when the heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it and therefore pushing the cold fluid to be heated

What is Radiation?

The emission of energy in the form of waves or particles through space or through a material medium.

How does a Solid act when heated?

Its particles gain kinetic energy causing them to vibrate quickly in their fixed points. The heat causes the solid in this way to expand. The heat is passed on by the particles knocking into each other.
