Human insulin can be produced using GM bacteria, it is also quicker and cheaper than others methods, so more people with diabetes can be treated . 'Golden rice' is GM plant that contain the genes of other plants that increase the production of beta-carotene. Beta- carotene makes vitamin A. This means it can reduce illnesses caused by lack of vitamin A. |

What are the disadvantages of genetic engineering? |
Few diabetic people react badly to insulin that is from GM bacteria and they need a doesn't form. Golden rice seeds cost more than normal rice seeds, so the poorest of people cannot afford to grow it. |

What are the two types of cell division? |
Mitosis and Meiosis. |

Things about Mitosis? |
Mitosis makes two cells ( called daughter cells). Mitosis makes identical cells. The daughter cells contain two sets of chromosomes ( so they are diploids). Used in asexual reproduction. |

Things about Meiosis? |
Second type of cell division, happens when a diploid cell divides to produce produce haploid gametes ( sex cells). This is how sexual reproduction is done. The daughter cells only contain one set of chromosomes (hence why they are called haploids). Daughter cells of these types are not genetically identical to each other. Meridian Meiosis makes four unidentical daughter cells. |

What is Mitosis also used for? |
Creates new body cells for: Growth. Repairing damaged parts of the body. Asexual reproduction. |

When the sperm cell fertilizes the egg cell by fusing with it . |
