What is a Mean?
An average of the observations in a given population.
What is Standard Deviation?
The measure of spread from the mean in a population.
What is the Law of Large Numbers?
A theorem which shows that through experimental replication, the values obtained will become closer to the expected value. The mean (x-bar) of the observed values gets closer and closer to the mean (u) of the population.
What is a parameter?
A numerical characteristic of a given population. It is fixed. Unknown, as it is very difficult to examine the entire population.
What is a Statistic?
A numerical value that represents a specific sample of the entire population.
