DataSource is a set of fields used to extract data of a business unit from a source system and transfer it to the entry layer of the SAP BW system or provide it for direct access.



When the DataSource is activated, the system creates a PSA table in the Persistant Staging Area, the entry layer of SAP BW

The PSA is the inbound storage area in SAP BW for data from the spurce system.


The requested data is saved unchanged from the spurce system.
