What is a covalent compound?
when two non-metals combine
ex. carbon and oxygen
What is a synthesis reaction?
Two or more elements or compounds combine to form a single compound.
What is a neutralization reaction?
An acid and a base combine to produce salt and water.
What is a decomposition reaction?
A compound is broken down onto two or more elements or simpler compounds.
What is a single replacement reaction?
One element replaces another element in a compound.
What is a double replacement reaction?
Elements in different compounds replace eachother or exchange places.
