Air brake test

Turn off the bus with the wheel still chucked turn key on but do not start bus

Leak test number one

Releasing the parking brake Put on the brake for 1 minute checking air gauges air pressure doesn't drop more than 3 lb in 1 minute

Second low pressure warning light test

Begin by sending the air pressure rapidly applying and releasing the foot brake low warning buzzer should be active at 60 PSI

Spring break test

Continue pumping the foot brake parking brake yellow knob will pop out when pressure falls to 30 PSI

Governor cut out test

Start the vehicle in safe start mode bring the RPMs up to 11,000 pressure will be but build back up to 60 PSI and a buzzer will go out continue to 120 to 140 PSI to hear the governor cut out

Parking brake test remove wheel chucks

Foot on the brake transmission and drive parking brakes still set yellow knob and out position I will press on the accelerator and make sure the vehicle will not move the bus should not move

Service brake test

Foot on the brake release the parking brake yellow knob pushed in I will pull forward at 5 miles an hour apply the service brake and stop to see if the vehicle does not pull to either side and that it stops when the brake is applied with the hands off the wheel
