A civil action is commenced by filing a complaint with the court.

-3rd Party complaint


-Answer to 3rd party complaint


-If court orders one, a reply to an answer

Rule 7 (b): Motions and Other Papers

1.) A request for a court order is made by motion. A motion must:


-Be in writing (unless verbal in trial/hearing)


-State with particularity reason for request


-State relief sought


2.) Form: Rules regarding captions and form for pleadings apply to motions.
