A pathogen is a microorganism that cause disease and infection

1.Staphlococcus-found in pimples,boils,wounds
2.Streptococcus-this causes strep throat,rheumatic heart disease,scarlet fever, septicemia,and pneumona

Hospital acquired are called NOSOCOMIAL

1.E.Coli-found in the GI tract (Feces,stool,BM.)Can cause UTI's & PID.
2.Bacilli-Cause TB typhoid fever,tetanus,&diphtheria

Grows in living cells and can not be treated with antibiotics.
They cause the common cold,herpes zoster,hepititis and influenza

Some vaccinatons are available to prevent soe viruses
What is a fungus ?
They appear in form of molds & mushrooms.They are the cause of infections to the skin such as athlete's feet and ringworm.It also causes thrush of the mouth & throat and vaginal infection
What are parasites ?
These organisms live in or on another organism from which they obtain their food to survive.
Common diseases from parasities are:malaria,trichomoas of the vagina,fungi,lice,scabies,and trichinosis from pork that is not cooked enough
