Some women called FLAPPERS cut their hair short, smoked, wore knee length skirts, wore bathing suits, and drank. They also went out a lot without chaperones.

They had more free time since the inventions of vacuum cleaners, dryers, washers, refrigerators, ect... Some women drove cars, played sports, went to college, and worked outside of home. They became professional women working in schools, hospitals, and became attorneys. They were allowed to vote.
