The Jazz Age
Many people were tired of a war time lifestyle. After the U.S. won, they wanted to have a sense of freedom. There was a new kind of music, jazz, which was a unique blend of western and african music. Much of it is improvised. Musicians like Louis Armstrong and King Oliver's Creole band had influenced music throughout the western world.
