The proclamation of 1763
This act banded all colonists from colonizing west of the Appalachian Mountains it also ordered that all colonists who lived in the Ohio Valley and beyond to move back east.

England felt that Americas should have to pay for the French and Indian War.

The tea act of 1773
Parliament made the East India Company a monopoly which angered colonists. Colonists continue to smuggle goods into the colonies. To keep from paying British tax.

The Boston Tea Party
1773 the Sons of Liberty demanded that the ships leave without unloading cargo. The governor ordered the tea be unloaded. Indian disguise Patriots aboarded the ships and dumped tea into the harbor.
Intolerable Act of 1774
Led to the quartering act which required colonists to House British soldiers and feed them.
The First Continental Congress
September 1774 a group of men met in Philadelphia to work something out with the king. The king denied the demands. And ordered troops to take the colonists weapons.
Lexington and Concord 1775
In Lexington 70 minuteman met british soldiers to try and stop them. By the time the soldiers had reached Concord the guns and powder were moved to a different location. Soldiers burn down houses and a fight broke out.
Second continental congress
Delegate representing the 13 colonies met in philadelphia to reason army. The revolutionary war began.
Common sense
Thomas Paine produced a pamphlet that called for the colonists to leave the British and form their own governments. These governments would be ruled by the people.
The Declaration of
On July 2nd 1776 the Second Continental Congress passed the resolution creating the United States of America. Its ratification on July 4th is the origin of our Independence Day.
