Definition

A serious, potentially fatal condition caused by a massive allergic reation.

Symptoms

Nausea, Shock, Impaired breathing, Rapid pulse, Feeling terror, Confusion and agitation.

Signs

Anxiety/panic, Swelling of the hands feet and or face, Visible swelling of the tongue and throat, Red itchy rash or raised areas of skin, Red itchy watery eyes, Pale or flushed skin, Unconsciousness, Look for a Medic Alert bracelet when examining the casualty, Difficulty in breathing, Signs of shock.

Treatment

Ask the casualty if they have their auto injector, Call 999, If the casualty feels faint lay them down immediately and raise their legs, Monitor casualty's breathing, Prepare to do CPR, Unconscious normal breathing casualties should be placed in the recovery postion and breating monitored.
