-Ideological and economic differences. Capitalist vs Communism

-By getting rid of opposition and replacing with Communist governments with secret police

-The Truman Doctrine was first step towards (successful) containment of Communism
-MP helped rebuild European economies. Stalin banned Est Euro from accepting it. Created Cominform. Tightened hold on Comm allies
What impact did the Berlin Blockade and Airlift have?
-Victory for the west, but all east-west relations disentegrated
-Germant remained divided. Co-operation unlikely

-Teachers part of German Teacher's Leauge and follow a Nazi curriculum. Textbooks rewritten in support of Nazi ideas and history

-Women with jobs forced to give up to give birth Banned from armed forces

-Labour Service Corps from 1935 it was complusory for all men 18-25 to serve in Corps for 6 months

-All newspapers and radios were controlled by Government all favoured Nazi stories, songs, news
-Films showed Germans defeating enemies and portraying Jews as weak. Everything in Nazi favour
