What is the difference between FAMILY, CATEGORY, TYPE, INSTANCE?

CATEGORY: very broad term, like DOORS, WINDOWS, WALLS.
FAMILY: Within a category, a further breakdown, like PANEL DOORS, SOLID CORE DOORS, FIRE DOORS. TYPE: Part of a family, like 30x78 PANEL DOOR, 30x84 PANEL DOOR INSTANCE: A single occurrance of a TYPE. |
