The state of the atmosphere at some place and time described in terms. ex: temperature, humidity, wind speed.
Meteorology
The scientific study of the atmosphere and atmospheric process.
Climate
Weather of some locality averaged over some time period plus extremes in weather behavior observed during the same period or during the entire period of record.
Climatology
Study of climate, its controls and spatial and temporal variability.
N.W.R.
is in all hazards radio network.
(NOAA Weather Radio)
Pressure Systems
Individual synoptic-scale features of atmospheric circulation; commonly denoted as highs or lows, less frequent ridges or troughs.
Air Pressure
The circumlative force exerted on any surface by the molecules composing air; usually expressed as the weight of a column of air per unit surface unit.
Air Mass
A huge volume of air covering thousands of square kilometers that is horizonatally relatively uniform in temerature and water vapor concentration.
Cloud
A visible suspension of minute water droplets and/or ice crystals in the atmosphere above the earth's surface. ~form in the free atmosphere.
Front
A narrow zone of transition between air masses of contrasting air density, that is, air masses of different temperapture, humidity or both. Fronts are classified as stationary, warm, cold, and occluded.
