REMOVE CO2 CYLINDER FROM VALVE. REMOVE INFLATION VALVE FROM PRESERVER. DISCARD 2 GASKETS ON VALVE STEM.

WHAT IS THE SECOND STEP IN REPAIRING THE CORRODED C02 INFLATION VALVE?
|
REMOVE GROOVE TAPER PIN (RETAINING LEVER) FROM INFLATION VALVE, USING AWL AND MALLET.
|
|
WHAT IS THE THIRD STEP?
|
REMOVE LEVER, SPRING, AND PIERCING PIN.
|
|
WHAT IS THE FOURTH STEP?
|
IF SPRING IS BROKEN OR CORRODED, REPLACE ENTIRE VALVE.
|
|
IF PIERCING PIN OR ACTUATING LEVER IS CORRODED, WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
|
REMOVE CORROSION WITH ABRASIVE MAT.
|
|
IF ABRASIVE MAT IS INNEFFECTIVE, WHAT SHOULD YOU USE?
|
USE 240 GRIT EMERY CLOTH.
|
|
WIPE OFF ANY DIRT OR MOISTUR FROM THE ACTUATING LEVER AND APPLY A THIN COAT OF
|
CORROSIVE PREVENTIVE COMPOUND (AMIGUARD)
|
|
AFTER YOU CLEAN THE RESIDUE FROM THE ACTUATING LEVER ON THE PIERCING PIN, WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
|
LIGHTLY COAT THE PIERCING PIN WITH SILICONE LUBRICANT.
