Visions
An experience of seeing someone or something in a dream or trance, or as a supernatural apparition.
Voices
The communication of knowledge/message, and the notion that the voice comes from God.
Conversion (Exp)
A change to a religious way of life as a result of some experience of divine truth. One may argue their previous life was wrong.
Corporate (Exp)
When a group of people, opposed to one person, say they have experienced God, this gives more credibility to their statement.
Numinous (Exp)
An experience of 'wonder' in the presence of God. Makes one aware of their relative insignificance as human beings. An experience beyond the physically observable world.
Indirect (Exp)
Thoughts of feeling about God only came through everyday events, e.g. beautiful sunset.
Direct (Exp)
God reveals himself directly to someone.
Private (Exp)
Religious Experience to just one human.
Public (Exp)
Religious Experience to more than one individual.
Principle of Credulity
If someone seems to be apparent, it makes logical sense to say that they are so unless they observe it under particular circumstances (e.g. mental drugs).
Principle of Testimony
It makes sense to believe what people tell you, since the majority of people tell the truth.
Empiricism

Pluralism
Experiences in different faiths lead him to conclude that they were similar. Experiences may be the same 'ultimate reality'.
Pragmatism
Truth is not fixed and what is true is whatever has great value for us; observations of RE = truth in religion.

One is not in control of the experience.

RE cannot be described in human language.
