Christianity

Believe the Old & New testament of the Bible are holy books. The first four books of the New Testament were written by Jesus.



Some Branches of Christianity are: Roman catholicism, Protestantism and Eastern Orthodox.

Some of the major beliefs of Christianity are:

A. Monotheism - there is one god who is all powerful and all knowing



B. Jesus christ died for the sins of humankind



C. Salvation comes from faith in God


Jesus Christ

Belief in Jesus as the son of God and the Christ.



Core Christian belief that through the death and resurrection of Jesus, sinful humans can be reconciled to God and thereby offered salvation and eternal life



According to the Gospels of Matthew and Luka, Jesus was born from the Virgin Mary.

Death and Resurrection of Jesus

Christian consider the resurrection of Jesus to be the cornerstone of their faith and most important event in human history.



Death & resurrection are two core events on which much of a Christian doctrine & theology is based.

Trinity

Refers to the teaching that the god comprises three distinct.



1. The Father


2. The Son (incarnate Jesus Christ)


3. The holy Spirit



These Three persons are sometimes called godhead.



There is no single term in scripture to denote the unified Godhead.

Salvation

Belief that one can be saved from sin and eternal death



Other concepts include conversion, faith, justification or regeneration.



The crucifixion of Jesus is explained as an atoning sacrifice.
