What is Baptism?

The Sacrament of Baptism takes away Original Sin and fills our soul with sanctifying grace.It makes us Christians , that is, followers of Jesus Christ, sons of God, and members of the Church.

What are the different kinds of baptism?

The Baptism of water, which was a regular Baptism, the baptism of desire, which is when someone wants to be baptized but can't, and the baptism of blood which is when someone was killed before they had a chance to be baptized.

What are the duties of one who is baptized?

One who has been baptized has the duties of following the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in his Church, including believing the Faith of the Church, receiving Sacraments, and obeying the Church's pastors.

The Byzantine rite is the second largest rite. It comes from the city of Constantinople.

How were the different rites made?

The apostles had not yet settled on the precise forms for the various ceremonies. In fact, these ceremonies developed over a long period of time and reflected the cultures, languages, and history of the various places where the gospel was preached. as the Church grew, bishops celebrated the Mass according to the customs of the city where he lived. Certain cities eventually exercised more influence then others in the area.

What is the difference between Roman rite and Byzantine rite?

In Roman rite, unleavened bread is used for Eucharist, they traditionally genuflect before the Blessed Sacrament, they make the sign of the cross from left to right, and they use statues along with icons. Byzantine Catholics use leavened bread, always bow as a sign of respect, make the sign of the cross from right to let, and are decorated only with icons.
