Good record keeping

Regular, continually , by the spirit

Challenges leveled against the First Vision

· Minister – No such things happen inthese days · Fawn Brodie – created the storyyears after it supposedly happened. Variations show embellishments over time. · Wesley Walters – No revivals before1820, no evidence of such revivalism.

How to respond to challenges

Pres Hinckley = not worried because the gospels also have alternative perspectives. More important = God revealed himself to this dispensation. Judge via the fruits!

Moses' claim to authority

via Jethro the high priest of Midian who was the son of Abraham's 3rd wife Keturah.

First Pres v. 12 apostles

1st Pres: Set the church in order (call missionaries, stake presidents, Bishops, Apostles, mission Presidents, etc)

Councilors hold the keys equally with the pres (if he is sick = take over)

Apostles: Serve all your lives- can do everything the first pres can do.

Joseph will die... but...

He will always be the one who holds the keys (he is the dispensation head)

power v. authority

Power = worthiness

Authority = ordination

make decisions

Unanimously
