Qing Pi (Unripe or Green TAngerine Peel)
disperses liver qi, stops pain, strongly disperses qi stasis & accumulations-especially chest, breast, & hypochondriac regions, dries damp & dispels phlegm & also TX food stasis & accumulation. strong qi mover
Wu Yao (Lindera)
moves qi, stops pain-especially lower abdomen & due to cold, dispels cold-especially lower abdomen, mildly warms kidneys. especially good for qi stasis & pain due to cold
Chen Pi (Aged Tangerine Peel)
moves qi in the middle jiao & a little bit in the upper, dries damp & dispels phlegm, sends down rebellious qi, prevents qi stasis of tonic herbs.
Fo Shou (Finger Citron)
mildly moves qi in the middle jiao, disperses liver qi, prevents stagnation due to tonic herbs-especially on a deficient patient, who you dont want to over disperse qi. especially good for deficient patients
