Receptors

Are very special macro molecules which are presented within our bodies and different ligands worked on them.

Ligands

Mean the substances which bind with specific receptors.

Ligands

1_ Hormones

2_ Neurotransmitters

3_ Drugs

4_Toxins

5_ Chemical substances

G protein

A unique type of intracellular primary protein to which GTP or GDP binds .

How G protein works

1_Ligand bind with the receptor

2_ Ligand binding domain is loaded

3_ Receptor undergoe the change

4_ This stimulates effector domain

5_ Effector domain stimulates G protein a sub unit

6_ A subunit throw the low energy molecule ( GDP)

7_ And become rich with the high energy molecule (GTP)

8_ When it's rich no more interested with his long friends B & £ ; pull his hand and put it in the pocket; he doesn't want any relation & detach.

9_ Friends which are B & £ were very sad they always with each other but A subunit detouch

10_ And developed a new relationship with a very clever protein which is A.C ( Adenylate Cyclase) and stimulate it ; as soon as a subunit stimulate A.C ; A.C effector unit becomes active; it breaks down the ATP into CAMP
