Before you provide any radar service you must first (SEPARTAION P/P)
establish and maintain radar identification of the aircraft involved
TARGET SEPARATION
(SEPARTAION P/P)
Apply radar separation between the centers of digitized targets.

Do not allow targets to touch!

Radar separation is also applied between the centers of primary targets
SEPARATE AIRCRAFT AT THE SAME ALTITUDE BY

For aircraft below FL600:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
5 Miles is the minimum separation
SEPARATE AIRCRAFT AT THE SAME ALTITUDE BY

For aircraft at or above FL600:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
10 Miles is the minimum separation
AIRSPACE SEPARATION
If coordination between the controllers concerned has not been effected, separate radar controlled aircraft from the boundary of adjacent airspace in which radar separation is also being used by the following minima:

Below FL600:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
2 1/2 Miles
AIRSPACE SEPARATION
If coordination between the controllers concerned has not been effected, separate radar controlled aircraft from the boundary of adjacent airspace in which radar separation is also being used by the following minima:

FL600 and above:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
5 Miles
AIRSPACE SEPARATION
Separate radar controlled aircraft from the boundary of airspace in which non-radar separation is being used by:

BELOW FL600:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
5 MILES
AIRSPACE SEPARATION
Separate radar controlled aircraft from the boundary of airspace in which non-radar separation is being used by:

FL600 AND ABOVE:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
10 MILES
OBSTRUCTION SEPARATION
Separate aircraft from prominent obstructions depicted / displayed on the PVD by
(SEPARTAION P/P)
5 Miles
FORMATION FLIGHT SEPARATION
(SEPARTAION P/P)
More than one aircraft which by prior arrangement between the pilots, operate as a single aircraft with regard to navigation and position reporting. Separation between aircraft within the flight is the responsibility of the flight leader and other pilots in the flight.
STANDARD FORMATION FLIGHT
(SEPARTAION P/P)
One in which a proximity of no more than 1 mile laterally or longitudinally and within 100 ft vertically from the flight leader is maintained by each wingman
NONSTANDARD FORMATION FLIGHTS ARE THOSE OPERATING UNDER ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
(SEPARTAION P/P)
Requested by the flight and approved by ATC
Within an ALTRV or provisions of an LOA
When the operation is conducted in special use airspace
SEPARATION MINIMA (formation flights)
(SEPARTAION P/P)
Control formation flights as a single aircraft (para 2-13)
Add 1 mile to appropriate separation
Separate two formation flights by adding 2 miles to required separation
SPECIAL USE AIRSPACE SEPARATION
LINCOLN MOA - (from 8000 MSL up to but not including FL180)
(SEPARTAION P/P)
500 FT (ABOVE FL290 1000FT) or by:
3 MILES (ABOVE FL600 6 MILES)
2-1-1 The primary purpose of the ATC

(SEPARTAION P/P)
to prevent a collision between aircraft operating in the system AND to organize AND expedite the flow of traffic.
POINTOUT

(COORDINATION AND POINT OUT P/P)
An action taken and the phraseology used by a controller to transfer the radar identification of an aircraft to another controller if the aircraft will or may enter the airspace of another controller and radio communications will not be transferred.
POINTOUT APPROVED

COORDINATION AND POINT OUT P/P)
The term (phraseology) used to inform the controller initiating a pointout that the aircraft is identified and that approval is granted for the aircraft to enter the receiving controllers airspace, as coordinated, without a comm transfer
TRAFFIC

(COORDINATION AND POINT OUT P/P)
A term (phraseology) used to transfer radar identification of an aircraft to another controller for the purpose of coordinating separation action. Traffic is normally issued (a) in response to a handoff or pointout, (b) in anticipation of a handoff or pointout, or (c) in conjunction with a request for control of an aircraft
TRAFFIC OBSERVED

(COORDINATION AND POINT OUT P/P)
The term (phraseology) used to inform the controller issuing the traffic restrictions that the traffic is identified and that the restrictions issued are understood and will be complied with
The transferring controller shall:

(COORDINATION AND POINT OUT P/P)
Obtain verbal approval before permitting an aircraft to enter the receiving controllers airspace

Obtain the receiving controllers approval before making any changes to an aircraft’s flight path, altitude, or data block info after the pointout has been approved

Comply with restrictions issued by the receiving controller

Be responsible for subsequent radar handoffs and communications transfer (including data revisions and coordination
The receiving controller shall:

(COORDINATION AND POINT OUT P/P)
Ensure that the target position corresponds with the position given, or that there is an association between a computer data block and the target being transferred prior to approving a point-out

Be responsible for separation between point-out aircraft and other aircraft for which you have separation responsibility

Issue restrictions necessary to provide separation from other aircraft within your area of jurisdiction

HANDOFF

(FDBIDHO P/P)
An action taken to transfer the RADAR IDENTIFICATION of an aircraft from one controller to another if the aircraft will enter the receiving controllers airspace and radio communications with the aircraft will be transferred.
WHAT INFO NEEDS TO BE GIVEN IN A POINT OUT. ( IN ORDER.)
1) POSTION OF A/C
2) IDENTIFICATION (CODE) (N#)

This key has nothing to do with forcing a hand off!!!
The symbol ^ will show up above the 2nd character in the AID for aircraft that aren’t in automatic H/O status
This will be used when we do point outs with LNK or Coordinate for some BIE depatures
