Originates in Burgundy region of France. Pinot Noir grows only in cool climate regions. Fog is good for Pinot Noir. Cool ocean breezes are good for Pinot Noir. Planted all around the world; in the US planted in Willamette Valley in Oregon and California's Sonoma County with its Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast.

Jammy, brambly, chocolate, rustic. Great for blending.
Body: Heavy

Where is primitivo developed?
Distribution:
Originating from Croatia, Primitivo was then grown in Italy for thousands of years. DNA testing has now confirmed that Primitivo is the exact same grape as Zinfandel, made popular by Californian wineries. In modern times, Primitivo is primarily known for being grown in southern Italy.
