Difference between Strategic goals vs. Tactical goals? |
Strategic goals cut across many departments and is companywide. Ex. Company mission, uncontrollable environmental factors. Tactical goals are subgqols that are derived from strategic quality goals. Ex. In-house scrap, returns. Customer surveys, supplier ratings. |

What is the quality department's role? |
To coordinate the quality efforts. Study process capabilites. Other departments must get involved. Goal is to satisfy the customers' needs Quality dept helps and supports activities such as: Data collection. Data analysis. Research. Training. The principal owner rests with operating department. The quality department is there to help solve it. Don't worry about getting credit. |
