skin eruptions, sensitive to heat, painless diarrhea out of bed 5AM
a. GI- empty weakness 11am b. Morning- painless diarrhea drives them out of bed c. Very sensitive to heat, to getting warm, very sensitive to getting warm d. Oftentimes indicated in skin eruptions, feels good to itch voluptuous itching but feels really good afterwards e. “Lazy lately” f. Modalities < standing, bathing g. Voluptuous itching - sore and burning, itching worse warm in bed, frequently takes off covers, prefers windows open - SULFUR |

2. Arsenicum
|
anxious about own health, fastidious, food poisoning--- acrid discharge, <3AM, thirsty small sips. Anxious/restless.
a. Asthma - < after midnight, waking from anxiety around 3AM, burning sensation in chest, better placing heating pad, chilly/thirsty can only drink a small amount at a time. b. Exhausted debility with restlessness…man in hospital foot out shaking; c. Important keynote -burning pains better with heat. d. Severe anxiety about health “I’m so sick I’m going to die.” Restless despair. e. One of first remedies you should think of when skin is raw and excoriated. f. Very important remedy for manifestations in GI tract, esp. food poisoning…on boards. g. Metallic taste in mouth. h. Great thirst, drinks a lot in small amounts. i. Times for arsenicum: after midnight, 3AM |

3. Phosporous
|
drinks cold water in big gulps, vomit it out. Very fearful of dark, of alone; good for bleeding. Vertigo on rising. Better with company/consolation. Worse twilight. Do not like thunderstorms-- sensitive to electromagnetic frequencies. Love ICE.
a. Case: 26 year old woman N/V, worse after water sits in stomach, empty or gone sensation in abdomen. Full of fears (scared of everything), calmed down when others around (better with company around). Thirsty for ice cold drinks. b. Fearful every corner; clairvoyant c. Vertigo on rising d. Skin: wound bleeds much - hemorrhaging e. Modalities IMPORTANT: i. > company, consolation, lying on right side, cold food/open air ii. < twilight (because sensitive to change), lying on left side, during thunderstorm |

crying/laughing--sighing; sensation of lump in throat; lump better from eating solid foods, worse when not swallowing solids, aggravated tobacoo.
f. lump in throat better swallowing solid food, mood is changeable from alternating laughing and crying g. emotional element is uppermost: grief, disappointed love, globus hystericus…patients are keeping so hard to keep their hurt inside, they can’t quite keep it in, the only thing you will see is bottom lip quivering. h. |
headache hammers, worse in sun; dwelling on past, more serious remedy, can’t cry/urinate in public; crack/herpes lip; fear robbers; do not like consolation/company.
a. case: hashimotos 2 years unpleasant divorce, grief, laughing over serious matters, craving salty food and chips, afraid someone broke into her apt. cold sores on lip. Physical: cold sores, crease in bottom lip, aggravation in the sun more often than not it is nat mur until proven innocent. b. H/a (thousand little hammers) and < sun c. Mind: ailments from disappointed love, weeps alone, dwells on past, laughs at serious matters, fear of robbers d. Face: greasy skin, lower lip cracked in the middle + herpes e. < consolation, company |

|
anger/indignation. [honeymoon cystitic], burning pain when not urinating. Easily offended, shaking so mad, holding everything in. overly sexual. Incision,
a. case: angry and offended at new lover but can’t tell him, started smoking again, embarrassed, drops of urine rolling around in urine; sensitive to disappointed to love but very sensitive to SUPPRESSED ANGER. New relationship or some change in relationship, partner has been insulting or abusive, unable to stand up for themselves (trembling with anger, then finally throws something). Genitourinary system affected often chronic cystitis. Burning pain when NOT urinating. b. Honeymoon cystitis (after new sex partner) c. Burning urethra when not urinating, rolling around in urethra d. Teeth turn black and crumble (thuja is yellow teeth) e. Often times crave tobacco f. Keynote on exams: pain in the incision - indicated remedy g. ME: trying to hold in anger--very sensitive to rudeness / main remedy for rudeness/indignation. |

|
difficulty defecating, chillyness, better from covering, irritable and impatient, nose draft of air
a. Pt irritable, impatient; H/A/nausea after overwork, feels chilly with flushes of heat on face, chilly -> wants to be covered up. (very sensitive to cold drafts). b. Key remedy for overindulgence: wine, coffee, rich food, women c. Mind: irritable, sensitive to all impressions, does not want to be touched, critical. d. Chilly; wants to be covered e. GI: nausea, morning < eating “If I could only vomit Id feel better” Ineffectual urging |

SUICIDE - testicular pain on right
a. Pt embarrassed about failed business, ailments from disappointed love, morose/brooding, suidical ideations ameliorated during attempt, when jumped from height felt relief, right testicle pain. Deep, dark, nasty depression. Thinking about dying is only thing that helps. One of main remedies for self-reproach. b. Stabbing pain in right testes c. Heart palpitations- as if heart stopped beating and followed up with a large thump, then starts up again. d. > music (but sensitive to music), < night e. suicidality - THINK AURUM. Often times pain, want to jump from window, after stock market crash wanted to jump from window, neglect of responsibility, didn’t meet expectations. |

|
gross yellow sweat, smells really bad; thirsty / moist mouth
a. Case: URIs, drools a lot even though a lot of saliva, very thirsty, bothered by cold and hot, offensive and profuse perspiration at night, time passes too slowly; strange/morbid impulses; thirsty but a moist mouth. Sensitive to temperatures, profuse perspirations offensive and stain sheets yellow. Time passes too slowly. Stammering/hurried. b. Swollen tongue, imprints on teeth, excessive salivation. Sensation of dry mouth but visually appears moist. Creeping chill takes over body c. Perspiration stains sheets, profuse, offensive odor. d. Offensive excretions from patient e. Sensitive to temperatures warm AND cold f. Better with Rest. |

10. Lycopodium
|
flatulence. haughty Want company in other room
a. Case: IBS, troubled by gas and distention, worse later afternoon, better when passes gas, started with public speaking job, wants wife in other room. Worse 4-8 pm, belly gets very distended, waistbands. Ameliorated when passes gas for want of self-confidence. Fearful when alone, but don’t want someone around them. b. GI - lower abdominal flatulence, tight waist band, better passing, worse after eating small amounts. Ameliorated passing gas, decent constipation (traveler’s), or hard stool -> followed by soft stool. ‘ c. Lower GI or respiratory conditions--flapping of alea nasi d. < 4-8. R -> L, right side e. Mind: anticipatory anxiety, false bravado, difficult concentration, wants company but in other room |

a. Case: 43 year old female with female troubles, pain during sexual intercourse - extremely sensitive to be touched, thinks previous doctors not smart enough. Everything is too much: menses too early, too profuse, last too long, attitude is too haughty. Delusion: feels taller than everyone else. b. Physical pains - sensations of numbness, extreme sensitivity vaginally, very arrogant and proud. c. Mind: False bravado, really ARE better than everyone else ,objects look smaller, contempt for others: Arrogant/proud d. Exceedingly sensitive organs, menses too long to early too much e. Numbness/coldness |

|
sour smelling sweat on head, big head, chronically constipated - worse drafts and wet weather - fearful of insanity, desire eggs
a. Case: 6 year old male patient PTC for recurrent ear infections, sensitive child in family protect from scary movies, chronic constipation but not bothered much by it. very sensitive to cold. Very sensitive emotionally, especially to scary stories. Oftentimes be chronically constipated, sometimes even feels better. Craving of eggs is very loved. Wets pillow during sleep, smells sour. Sweat very profuse especially on head. Asked a lot about recurrent infections as kid. Makes sure you know patters: b. Chilly : cold damp feet, < cold/damp (opposite of sulfur, where sensitive to heat) c. Big sweaty heads d. Craves egg and indigestible e. Sensitive to slight exertion (SOB) f. Mental: Fearful - scared they are going crazy and people watching them and going to figure it out, insanity, mice, scared. Put on weight easily, difficult time taking it off. |

13. Baryta Carb.

old man version of carl carb, good for prostate; bashful - old people who act childish; bad memory; can only swallow liquids - plug in throat;
a. Case: mother brings in 10 year old son, chronic recurring tonsillitis (enlarged). Gets sick every time weather gets cold and damp (sensitive to cold and damp); shyness/hiding, difficulty keeping up in school. b. Little kids and old men c. Mind: bashful, averse to strangers, childish, not keeping up with their class. d. Manifest in throat: swollen tonsils, only able to swallow liquids, very sensitive to cold, damp. e. < empty swallowing |

|
bad smelly feet, timid, great 1st aid to expel remedies, fear of passing stool, obstinate but timid - rectal fistulaes
a. Case: 21 YO PTC CFS, hard dry stools recede into rectum (bashful stool/constipation), worse during menses, chilly but sweats easily smells bad esp on feet, ME: timidity combined with obstinance. b. Foreign object want to expel: silica. Decent amount of constipation that manifests as bashful stool before/during menses. May become fearful of pain before stool. c. Obstinate but timid. d. Splinter like pains from rectal fissures. e. Sensitive to cold f. Chronic infections: viral, AOM, g. HA violent, tearing, one sided (but don’t see many TQs on that) |

|
head covered, post-partum depression, prolapse of uterus/rectum, better with dancing, indifferent to loved ones, nauseated by food in AM
a. Case: post-partum depression, hx of miscarriages, cannot express love to family, constipated weight in rectum/uterine (bearing down sensation--crosses legs to keep everything in), smell of food created nausea (averse to meat, craving for vinegar, great for AM sickness). b. Female: AM sickness, bearing down sensation, hx miscarriage, post-partum depression c. AM sickness i. > eating, dancing, vigorous exercise [pathognomonic], sweating ii. < smells d. desires sour foods, vinegar; averse to meat e. < consolation f. > excitement, dancing, music g. indifferent to loved ones, weeps telling story |

|
[menopausal with hot flashes.] jealous/loquatious; hot flashes..L sided (lycopodium is right), sleeps into aggravation (worse after long sleep)?
a. Case: 54 yeear old female PTC for menopausal sx. Hot flashes wakes up at night. Anxiety husband is having affair (jealousy and suspiciousness as irresistible as it is foolish, may or may not be warranted.) Loquacious. b. Throat pain: L, or L -> R (sensitive to touch or anything around neck). Ddx Lycopodium (R -> L) c. Mind: suspicious, loquacious, d. Sleeping into aggravation [significant clinically] “If I could just stay awake I’d be fine.] worse upon waking up e. Resp: apnea on falling asleep, wake in fear of suffocation, throat sensitive to touch which brings cough f. Modalities: i. < L -> R, touch (neck), heat; ii. > menstrual flow, cold drinks, solids |

17. Pulsatilla
|
- bland creamy green discharge, better w consolation. thirstless, timid, changeable.
a. Case: 6 yo acute conjunctivitis with bland thick profuse yellow (could be green) creamy discharge. Itchy, feels as though has to rubs all the time, causes eyes to stick shut in AM, aggravated by hot warm compresses, more weepy and clingy -- want consolation. b. Changeable symptoms: “Thirstless, peevish, and chilly” c. Mind: WEEPY, mild, gentle, yielding; want open air/doors, fears alone, dark, ghost; desires sympathy d. Discharges: yellow-green, thick, bland e. Modalities: i. < heat, rich/fatty foods ii. > open air, motion, cold applications/food/drinks |

18. Kali Carb.
|
nose stuffed up in cold room, thick yellow discharge, post-nasal drip; cough w/difficult expectoration, scanty; wants company but mistreats; sensitive to feet touched (less pathetic than pulsatilla) 2-4 am aggravation. Constipation - difficult stool. worse from cold
a. Case: chronic asthma, 2-4AM, lower right lobe of lungs, wants people around but treats them horribly, sensitive to feet being touched -> easily startled b. One of main remedies for LBP, sensation as if lower back will give out (sweaty, lower back pain, weak) c. Mental: irritable, want company but mistreat them d. Resp: nose stuffed up with thick yellow d/c; throat pain as if from fishbone, asthma 2-4AM, right lobar pneumonia < lying on aggravated side; sit up e. Intolerance of cold weather f. Sensitive to feet touched |

|
[aggravated cold dry wind > damp] - retention; paralysis after exposure to cold; sympathetic, worried, etc; better with damp weather. Good cough remedy if coughing makes lose urine.
a. CASE: muscles short, seem flexed. Pain < after out in cold, especially in windy day, incontinence of urine while laughing/sneezing, > when it rains, < dry, windy days b. Paralysis < cold dry wind (contraction of flexor tendons) c. Urinary retention -> UTI i. coupled with incontinence ii. burning after coition d. best for 2nd degree burn [BOARDS] e. paroxysmal cough > cold drink f. aphonia in AM from public speakers g. ailments: grief, cares, disappointed love, fear, anticipation h. < cold dry air, winds/drafts i. sensitive like phosphorous |

a. Case: 32 year old woman depression, “very vulnerable/brittle”, legs could break, body-spirit separation, condyloma old case wont heal. b. Warts: condylomata c. GU: Split stream, trickling/sever cutting after urination d. Limbs made of wood or glass not nearly as important, brittle/would break, e. Something alive in abdomen f.
