Pantoprazole -- S/E

Osteoporosis, fractures, & hepatic disease with long-term use.


N/V/D, HA, abdominal discomfort.


Hypomagnesemia.

PPI

Pantoprazole -- NI

Pregnancy risk.


Increases effects of Warfarin, Diazepam, Phenytoin.


Use cautiously in patients with hepatic disease.


CAN be taken with antacids.

Pantoprazole -- PT

Increase Calcium, Magnesium, & Vit. D intake.


Report s/s of low magnesium levels.


Take medication 30 minutes before eating with a glass of water.

Cimetidine -- Use

GERD


Gastric & Duodenal ulcers.

Cimetidine -- A/E

Decreased libido & impotence


Dizziness, HA, constipation, nausea, rash.

Cimetidine -- NI

Use cautiously in liver & renal patients.


Monitor patients on Warfarin.


Pregnancy risk.

Cimetidine -- PT

Avoid smoking, alcohol, NSAIDs.


Increase diet of B12.


Antacids should be taken an hour before or after.


Sucralfate -Use

Protective drug, does not neutralize.


Taken multiple times a day & at night


Take alone.


Separate 30 minutes with antacids use.
