Active

Aware and in a relationship with organization

Intervening Publics

A public with influence over or communication with other publics


Ex: the media, interest groups, youtube critics, anyone with word of mouth

Primary Publics

Have influence over your goals, have resources you need, and require a maintained relationship

Secondary Publics

Don't have influence over your goals, don't have resources you need, but are a public that require maintenance

Internal Public

Those inside organization


Employees, shareholders, people with tenuous connection (alumni)

External Public

Those outside organization

Domestic Public

Within country and sometimes even region

International Public

Outside your country or region
