History of Psychology
•Prescientific psychology asked the questions is the mind connected to the body or distinct? Are ideas inborn or is the mind a blank slate filled by experience?
•Psychological science was known as empiricism which states that knowledge comes from experience via the senses and that science flourishes through observation and experiment.
Three Paradigms
•Wilhelm Wundt (c. 1879) – Introspection which was science of the mind
•John Watson (1920-1960) – Behaviorism which is the study of behavior, he came up with the S-R psychology ( stimulus response)
