In condition 1-man walked out with pen and grease on his hands. condition two the discussion was more heated and man came out with pen knife and convered in blood. when asked to identify man from 50 photos. Participants in number 1=41% 33% for condition 2.

compared ability of primary school and college children. Identify a target following a slide of a mock crime. child witnesses more likely to pick 'somebody' also more likely to make errors.
Yarmey (1993)
651 adults in public place and asked them to recall physical characteristics of a young woman whom they had spoken to for 15 secs 2 mins earlier. young and middle aged more confident than older recall no differ.

accuracy of young and older eyewitnesses. when delay was short-35 mins, no difference in accuracy. when delayed by a week, the older were less accurate.
