- refusal to maintain a body weight at or above a minimally normal weight
-intense fear of weight gain
-distubance in the ways one body weight is experienced or
-undue self evaluation of body weight or
- denial of the seriousness of weight
-amennorhea

- recurrent episodees of binge eating
-recurrent innapropriate compensatory behavior to prevent weight gain
- both occur at least 2 x week for 3 months
-self evaluation is unduly influenced by body shape
-the disturbacne does not occur exclusivley during epsiodes of anorexia
