What is the meaning of the word "introduction?

From Latin "intro" meaning "to inside" and "ductus" which means "to lead".



So introduction lead the listeners from a broad knowledge "to the inside" which is covered by the topic.

To pave the way for the main topic.


It establishes rapport, brings their attention to the topic and make the subject matter clear.

Build up presentation to its peak and end it there. Done with power and intensity to erase all doubts. Employed when immediate action is needed.

Citing an experience, event or quoting an incident that describes the deeper meaning of the sermon.

Giving a condition

Leaves a decision for the listeners to make.
