Attributes of Active Listening |
Mirroring Paraphrasing Summarising Clarifying Motivational Response |
Attributes of Conflict Resolution |
Dealing with the problem and not attacking the person Brainstorming ideas without commenting Mediating with a third party or peacemaker |

Project Management Tools |
Gantt Charts Scheduling of Tasks Journals and Diaries Funding Management Plan Communication Management Plan |
What is a Gantt Chart |
Gantt charts display the overall timeline for a project. They present a sequential breakdown ofindividual tasks showing the relationship between tasks and the time taken for each task. Theduration of tasks are shown as horizontal bars. |
What is a Funding Management Plan |
A record of the scheduling and costing of tasks and other expenses; ensures project is developedwithin budget. It should specify how and when the funds will be allocated to each task. Proceduresshould be in place for ordering a product or service during the system's development. Accountsshould be kept for each task to ensure that the task is completed on budget. Also, funds may have tobe redistributed during development and there should be flexibility in the plan to do this |
What is a Communication Management Plan |
This is a record of when meetings are to be held throughout the development of the informationsystem, the purpose of each meeting and who should attend. Information management softwaresuch as e-mail or electronic calendars can help the project leader to manage information andschedule tasks. A line of communication should be set up so that each group knows who to contactwhen answers to questions are required. |

Implementing |
Acquiring information technology and making it operational An implementation plan The need for an operation manual detailing procedures participants follow whenusing the new system |
Conversion Methods |
Direct cut-over Parallel Phased Pilot |
Implementation Plan |
Participant training Method of conversion Hardware, software Conversion of data |
Volume data |
Is test data designed to ensure the system can process large amounts of data. A query in adatabase may have to process millions of records. |
Simulated data |
Aims to test the performance of the system under simulated conditions such as performingdifferent tasks at the same time or the system having to respond to a large number of requests |
Testing, Evaluating and Maintaining |
Testing and evaluating the solution with test data Checking to see that the original system requirements have been achieved Reviewing the effect on users of the information system, participants and peoplewithin the environment Modifying parts of the system where problems are identified |
