Labour intensive industries have less mechanisation which means more workers and less machines.i.e car assembly plants


Capital intensive industries have have less workers,more machines and higher capital imput I.e oil refinery.

Explain why it would be beneficial for countries such as Botswana to create more labour intensive industries.

-it creates more employment which improves the standard of living.

Heavy industries involved in production of heavy and bulky goods and they use more raw materials. Their characteristics include ; production of more valuable goods, large scale production and more capital and labour is used.

The growth is in its infancy stage because of late discovery of minerals,lack of skilled labour,Botswana is a landlocked country,competition from its neighbours and lack of capital.
