Ensuite, je vous expliquerai la situation contemporaine.

1.) Premièrement –

Avant les années 50, beaucoup d’étudiants terminaient leurs études à la fin du lycée.

After the 1950's, most students terminated their studies at the end of high school.

L’université était pour le riche et toute personne avec l’intelligence extraordinaire.
|
The University was for the rich and people with extraordinary intelligence.
|
|
|
Ma grand-mère était d’une famille riche.
|
My grandmother was from a rich family.
|
|
|
Elle avait la chance d’aller à l’université pendant la guerre.
|
She had the chance to go to University during the war.
|
|
|
Elle a reçu son diplôme.
|
She received her diploma.
|
|
|
Elle est devenue professeur d’économie domestique.
|
She became a professor of home economics.
|
|
|
Elle enseignait pour se distraire.
|
She taught for amusement.
|
|
|
Le système n’était pas dans un alignement avec la culture américaine.

The system wasn't in alignment with American culture.

Le system éducatif a changé après la deuxième guerre mondiale.
|
The education system changed after WWII.
|
|
|
La plupart des jeunes hommes Américain devaient faire leur service militaire.
|
The majority of American men had to serve in the military.
|
|
|
À cette époque, le service était obligatoire.
|
At that time, military service was required.
|
|
|
Comme une incitation rentable, il y avait une nouvelle politique (programme) pour les anciennes combattantes qui s’appelaient le « GI Bill ».
|
As an incentive, there was a new policy for the former solders called the GI Bill.
|
|
|
Elle permettait à un plus grand nombre de personnes d’aller à l’université pour la première fois.
|
The bill permitted a majority of people to go to University for the first time.
|
|
|
Mon grand-père était pauvre.
|
My grandfather was poor.
|
|
|
À cause du programme, il est allé à l’université.
|
Because of the program he was able to go to University.
|
|
|
Il a reçu son diplôme et il a commencé sa carrière comme aviculteur.

He received his diploma and began a career in the chicken industry.
|
|
|
Il faisait une grande entreprise et il fournissait les œufs au marché de Boston.

He made a large entreprised that fournished eggs for the boston market.
|
|
|
Depuis quelque temps, une loi supplémentaire est passée pour faciliter le paiement des coûts universitaires.

Since that time, a supplementary law was passed to facilitate payment of University costs.
|
|
|
Aujourd’hui la majorité des Américaines utilisent le système de bourse par le gouvernement fédéral.
|
Today, the majority of Americans utilize the federal loan system.

Étant parent moi-même, j’ai beaucoup d’espoir que l’éducation de nos enfants sera encore plus approfondie que la nôtre.

Being a parents myself, I have lots of hope that the education of our children will be even better than ours.
|
|
|
Au même temps, j’ai du souci.
|
At the same time, I have fears.
|
|
|
Les jeunes recevront une excellente éducation, mais la dette éducative accablera leurs vies.
|
Youth will receive an excellent education, but education debt will encumber their lives.
|
|
|
À mon avis, cette dette fera un défi pour la génération prochaine.
|
In my mind, this debt will make a challenge for the next generation.
|
|
|
Ce sera difficile d’avoir les moyens d’acheter une maison et de soutenir une famille.
|
It will be difficult to have the means to buy a house and support a family.
|
|
|
Encore, nous avons besoin d’un nouveau système pour payer l’éducation.
|
Still, we need a new system to pay for education.
|

Je suis optimiste.
|
I am an optimist.
|

Selon moi, l’avenir sera bon pour l’éducation aux Etats-Unis.

In my opinion, the future of education in the United States will be great.

Cependant, nous devrions améliorer le système de la dette éducative.
|
However, we have to improve the educational debt system.
|
|
|
Les Américains doivent se souvenir de l’importance de l’éducation dans notre société.
|
Americans have to remember the importance of education in our society.
|
|
|
Ces étudiants vont être les dirigeants du prochain monde.
|
Today's students are the next world leaders.
|
