- Children <1 yr born outside of Canada or transferred from VRE affected facility

|
Nasal swab of both nares
Rectal swab (or perianal if neutropenic) Swab of any non-intact skin (i.e. rash, indwelling tube/catheter site, incision, umbilical stump) |

|
Gown
Gloves Mask Dedicated patient care equipment (temp. NP. O2 probes, stethoscope, diaper scale, etc) Visitors don't require PPE if not visiting other patients; review hand hygiene Possible visitor restrictions to common patient areas |

How do we discontinue ARO Special Contact Precautions?
|
3 consecutive sets of negative cultures 1 week apart, off antimicrobial therapy at least 48 hrs
