-lived worship is the fount from which a worldview springs

Critique from History:
-suggests model (top-down) ideas-first picture that prioritizes beliefs and doctrines

-also engaged in developing worship practices long before the Bible emerged and was solidified
-Given the oral culture, scripture NT functioned in a liturgical rather than private context of individual study
-rather than functioning as "storehouse of facts", are read/encountered as a site of divine action, as a means of grace, as a conduit of the Spirit's transformative power, as part of a pedagogy of desire

Critique from Anthropology:
-suggests model (bottom-up) that prioritizes worship as a practice of desire
-Christian worship that is full-bodied reaches, touches, and transforms even those who cannot grasp theological abstractions...ex:children/ mentally handicapped
10d. What is the sacramental imagination? What does this shape our worship?
-Rooted in a proper understanding of creation:sign/seals
-means that for the world to be a means of worship and grace is not accidental, but the revelation of its meaning, the restoration of its essence, the fulfillment of its destiny

-So, too, worship is not some odd, extra-human thing we do as an add-on to our earthly,physical, material nature; rather it is the "epiphany" of the world

1. Supernaturalism:
-disconnect between heaven and earth; spiritual and earthy

2. Naturalism:
-no transcendent reality
