Press and hold the bottom, round Profile Selector button (the button directly above the PTT button on the radio) then press and hold either red emergency button

Each V-Tach can support

30 portable radios.

Profiles 1-5 have been designated as

Firefighting channels.


In all of the Profiles, Talk group 1 and 16 are?

Dispatch channels

Talk groups 2-15 are used as?

fire ground, training or response channels, depending on the situation

Profile 6 will include Dispatch (TG 1 & 16),


Firefighting Talk Groups (TG 2-9) and TEMS on the display screen. TG’s which will be 10-15 on the dial but will read TEM OP S1 through TEM OP S6

Profile 7 will be utilized for

Water Rescue events. Talk Groups 11-14 on the dial which read USGA-16, USCG_21A, USCG_81A, and USCG_23A will be utilized for communication with the United States Coast Guard. Talk Group 15 on the dial is for communication with the Milwaukee Police Department and will read HARBOR on the display screen. TG 10 is Marine Rescue

Profile 8 will be utilized for

both HAZ MAT (10-12)and HURT (13-15) response. The Talk groups assigned for either HAZ MAT or HURT are to be used for response only, not training.

Profile 9 has Talk groups assigned for

the Academy for Recruit/Cadet/Dept wide in- service trainings. Talk Groups 10-15 on the dial will read ACDM_10 through ACDM_15 on the display screen.

Profile 10 and 11 are used for

Battalion training. Battalion Chiefs will determine and assign Talk Groups as needed. These Talk Groups will be 10-15 on the dial and will read TR10_10 through TR10_15 on the display screen.

Profile 12 will be utilized for

communication with the Milwaukee Police Department. Companies should refrain from speaking on these channels unless directed to do so. Talk Groups 9-15 on the dial will read DIST_1 through DIST_7 on the display screen.

Profile 13 will be utilized for


High Rise responses and assigned as necessary.

Profile 14 will be utilized for

communication with Milwaukee County EMS. Talk Groups 2- 11 on the dial will reach MCEMS. Flight For Life TG channels will be 12 -13 on the dial and will read OAAIRMD1 and OAAIRMD2. Talk Group 14 on the dial will read OALAWCAL and should not be utilized unless directed to do so.


Profiles 15 and 16 will be utilized to


communicate with our Shared Services partners and Talk Groups will be assigned as needed.


A MAYDAY should be called anytime a member or company experiences the following:

Entanglement, Pinned or stuck


Fall through a floor, steps or roof Collapse that blocks your exit Disorientation


Can’t find an exit


Low air alarm without a close exit


Sudden change in conditions for the worse Any PPE failure


Any medical problem within the hot zone
