Aspects for traditional 4th amendment search
Before search, gov't officials must first obtain a warrant describing the person, place, or thing to be searched, and once search is started they must comply with the warrant.
Green vs. United States
Green supposedly murdered life long friend Brown and was charged with arson and murder and 2nd degree
George Blow
Green's attorney; Found out the trial judge made a mistake when he instructed the jury it was 2nd degree, DC requires that killing in act of arson is FIRST degree. So retrialed and Green was spared death penalty.

Griswold vs. Conneticut
Griswold- director of the Planned Parenthood League of Connecticut. She and the Medical Director gave info, and other medical advice to married couples concerning birth control. Griswold and her colleague were convicted under a Connecticut law which criminalized the provision of counselling, and other medical treatment, to married persons for purposes of preventing conception.
Planned Parenthood vs. Casey
A minor seeking an abortion required the consent of one parent. A married woman had to indicate that she notified her husband of her intention to abort. These were challenged by several abortion clinics and physicians.Can a state require women who want an abortion to obtain informed consent, wait 24 hours, and, if minors, obtain parental consent, without violating their right to abortions as guaranteed by Roe v. Wade?
Roe vs. Wade
Roe, Texas resident, wanted to do abortion. Texas law prohibited abortions except to save the pregnant woman's life. The Court held that a woman's right to an abortion fell within the right to privacy (recognized in Griswold v. Connecticut) protected by the 14th Amendment.

Says you cannot take away life, liberty, or property without going through the legal system first
Barron vs. Baltimore
Barran's boat was damaged when the city was doing road work which caused the harbor to damage his boat. Barron won 4500$ but appellate court overruled it. Established a precendent on whether the bill of rights could be applied to state gov'ts
