What is the Umbrella Sentence?

In both 'Neutral Tones' and 'When We Two Parted' the poets represent the pain of love as being difficult to understand and cope with.

What is topic sentence 1?

Whereas 'Neutral Tones' has a lot of natural imagery to portray the heartbreak felt by the couple, the speaker in 'When We Two Parted' uses multiple rhetorical questions to show the pain of heartbreak that he feels.

What is topic sentence 2?

Whilst the heartbreak felt in 'Neutral Tones' is shared between the couple, it is implied that only the speaker feels the pain of heartbreak in 'When We Two Parted.'
