Stanza

Identical units of groups of lines

Couplet

Consists of two lines of verse forming a unit of meaning. Commonly used to denote any two lines of rhymed poetry .

Free Verse

Does not follow a metrical pattern of rhyme scheme

Blank Verse

It is the poetic form that is closest to the typical rhythms of the English lang.

End rhyme

occurs when the last words of two lines rhyme

Identical Rhymes

whenever the entire final stressed syllables produce exactly the same sound.

Internal rhyme

when two or more words in a single line rhyme with each other.

Approximate rhyme

Include imperfect rhymes and alliterative rhymes. Imperfect rhymes share similar vowel and consonant sounds

Alliterative rhymes

have identical initial consonant sounds.

the repetition of a sounds in a work of section of poetry or prose. Repetition may come at the beginning, middle or end syllables of words.
