- 1 cup fruit juice or pop


- 4 teaspoons of table sugar dissolved in water

Ipratropium Bromide Indications

Respiratory distress with wheezing due to bronchospasm

Ipratropium Bromide Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, symptomatic tachycardia (greater than 150 adults, greater than 180 pediatrics), ischemic chest pain

Ipratropium Bromide Adult Dose

Adult: 4-8 puffs via MDI every 5 mins as needed to a max of 24 puffs


OR


500mcg nebulized with 0₂ every 5 mins to max of 3 doses


Ipratropium Bromide Pediatric Dose

Ped: 3 puffs via MDI every 5 mins as needed to a max of 6 puffs


OR 500mcg nebulized with 0₂ every 5 mins to a max of 2 doses

Nitroglycerin Indications

Ischemic chest pain, pulmonary edema

Nitroglycerin Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, decreased LOC, SBP less than 100,


HR less than 60, HR greater than 150, ED drugs within 48 hrs, inferior MI

Nitroglycerin Dose

0.4mg SL every 5 mins max of 6 sprays until chest pain is relieved or SBP falls below 100, discontinue after 3 doses and no change

Salbutamol Indications

4-8 puffs via MDI every 5 mins as needed to a max of 24 puffs


OR


5mg nebulized with 0₂ every 5 mins to a max of 3 doses


Salbutamol Pediatric Dose


Less than 5 years - 5 puffs MDI OR 2.5 mg nebulized


Greater than or equal to 5 years - 10 puffs MDI OR 5 mg nebulized
