Explain how teachers can help students build up their self-image according to the "Attribution Theory of Motivation." |
Teachers who praise the student for achieving success on assignment due to personal effort , helps students build up their self-image. -- the Attribution Theory of Motivation proposes that students explain their success or failure to themselves in ways that help them maintain a positive self-image. If student think that their classroom success is due to internal/controllable factors--i.e.., things that they can do themselves-- they are more likely to work hard in the future. In other words these attributions directly affect the amount of effort students expend on class work in the future.
