is a literary term used to describe the events that make up a story or the main part of a story. These events relate to each other in a pattern or a sequence. The structure of a novel depends on the organization of events.

Plot

is a literary device used to introduce background information about events, settings, characters etc. to the audience or readers. The word comes from the Latin language and its literal meaning is “a showing forth.”

Exposition

in a plot is a series of relevant incidents that create suspense, interest and tension in a narrative. In literary works, includes all decisions, characters' flaws and background circumstances that together create turns and twists leading to a climax.

Rising action

occurs right after the climax, when the main problem of the story resolves. It is one of the elements of the plot of the story, while others are exposition, rising action, climax, and resolution. Besides, it wraps up the narrative, resolves its loose ends and leads towards the closure.

Falling Action

is the term used to refer to the part of story or play where the tension or action reaches its highest part. Sometimes, this is a "crisis" point in the plot. ... it is represented by the high point, and the action of the story begins to fall from there, until problems are resolved.

Climax

is the conclusion of the story’s plot.It’s where any unanswered questions are answered, or “loose ends are tied.”
