Plot

Series of events in a story.

Exposition

The beginning of the story. The characters and setting are introduced; background information is given.

Rising Action

The problem of the story is introduced. It's all the events that lead to the climax.

Climax

The turning point for the main character(s). Everything has lead up to this point. A decision must be made; something bad or something good is going to happen as a result.

Falling Action

It's what happens right after the climax. Sometimes the problem is solved.

Resolution

It's how the story ends. Sometimes the problem is solved.
