If woman positive for gonorrhea or trichomonas, treat partner

Why would you admit someone with PID to hospital?

-Acute abdomen


-tubo-ovarian abcess


-nausea, vomiting, fever, systemic symptoms



-pregnant


-not compliant or tolerating therapy


-failure of therapy

When to initiate immediate antibiotic therapy?

Lower abdominal discomfort +:


- cervical motion tenderness


- uterine tenderness


- adnexal tenderness
