What equations do we have relating cardiac output, pressure, and resistance?
Pressure = cardiac output X total peripheral resistance.

So, arterial pressure = stroke volume * HR * resistance.
What's the result of the pulmonary stretch receptor?
Lungs stretch = systemic dilation
What does renin do?
Renin produced by kidney in response to lower renal profusion (drop in BP), which will serve to up blood pressure.

Renin goes to liver where it cleaves angiotensinogen to angiotensin I.

Angiotensin I goes to lung where it's converted, by ACE, to angiotensin II.

angiotensin II is a powerful vasoconstrictor. also releases aldosterone, which is an ANTIDIURETIC which retains volume in the blood.
What's vasopressin?
Vasopressin is released by the hypothalmus in response to increased blood osmolarity - this is a signal that fluid needs to be added to the blood.

Vasopressin is also called antidiuretic hormone - it'll definitely keep the kidneys from peeing out water.
What is atrial natriuertic peptide?
Released by the atria in response to STRETCH (think high blood pressure) - this causes the kidneys to excrete more sodium, more water chases it, and the blood volume decreases, bringing down BP.
