Define transverse wave
A wave in which the oscillations are perpendicular to the direction of the wave travels.
Define Longitudinal wave
back and forth
A wave in which the oscilations are along the direction the wave travels.
Frequency do to waves
number of cycles of a wave passing a point per unit time. number of cycles/secs
Define wavelength
Distance between two successive "like" points on a wave.

When sound wave go through an opening like a door it not only goes straight out the door but both sides

Random waveform that does not repeat over and over. like the sound of rushing air.
Give an Example of a wavelenth that does not need a medium in which to travel and a wave that does need a medium.
Water ripples and waves on a rope need a medium and light radio waves microwaves and x rays do not require a medium.
