Steps of General Survey
1. Washes hands w/ sanitizer upon entering room
2. Introduce self to patient, first and last name. State reason for being there.
3. Assess patients: mental status (orientation to person/place/time), apparent state of health, LOC & state of awareness, signs of distress, posture, dress/grooming/hygiene, affect/mood/manner/speech.
